the “law” of attraction and healing

As sometimes happens, I get burrs under my saddle. A few are everpresent, like the three cactus needles I still have in my right knee after a mountain hike in Tucson a few weeks ago.

One of those everpresent burrs concerns the alleged law of attraction. I wrote about it two weeks ago. I wrote about it again this week and because I promised my dead mother I’d continue to write here, I’m just going to leave this for anyone who might be interested.

It’s sparked some interesting thoughts and conversation on the Facebook post I’ll link to below. I’m not going to recreate the whole thing on AUM, but it starts with having dinner with Suzanne and Anita Moorjani, who was spontaneously healed from end stage lymphoma.

Healing. Why do some get it and others not? Why do we even get sick in the first place? As usual, I have thoughts … CLICK here and join us!

Two of these people have had spontaneous, un-LOA-relatedphysical healings ~ and I’m one of them.

  1. I hope it’s OK for me to share what has been coalescing into my guiding life principle here:

“It’s easy to smile when you’re handsome and free, and your friends all love you a lot.
But the one who is brave is the one who can smile when their shorts creep up in a knot.”
I laughed when I read this greeting card back in the ’70s, but as I ponder the Universe and our purpose in living this life, I think it holds a deeper message.

I have heard Suzanne report that souls are able to manifest easily on the other side: Want to play golf? Immediately, they’ve got a beautiful landscape, clubs and a great swing. Easy-peasy. Love is everywhere, surrounding, infusing, encompassing… I’ve also been reminded that it is difficult to see stars in the day because the sun is so bright.

How can we grow or evolve from there, from the ever-present state of all-encompassing Love? What is ‘growth’ to a soul, anyway? When I listen to near-death experiencers, the answer seems to always come back to we are “here to love”. But, don’t we love on the other side? What’s so special about here?

Coming here, we experience isolation from that ever-present Love. Stuff happens that brings pain (what the heck?!?). Can we put Love in motion now? We see someone else hurting: How ’bout now? Can we put Love in motion now? Opportunities abound here.

The laws of physics and biology, the expression of DNA modulated by the environment, the desires and wills of others, all these comingle, creating the kaleidoscope moments that we experience. Such variety, such potential. Do we control the kaleidoscope or even the image? We control what we put into it in each subsequent moment. We can play with the law of attraction and it can influence the kaleidoscope, but I think it is not what this life is about. We’re not here to learn to manifest, we’re here to learn to put Love in Motion.

It is our Practice. And apparently, we need a lot of practice.

    1. Oh my word, YES! Exactly that. What a delicious and funny way to reminded that life is life, and it’s pretty much going to do what it will. If we can, as my dead friend Brenda used to say, “trust, relax, release, allow,” it will be at minimum, more peaceful, and at best, the hard times will be a little softer because I’m not hanging on tooth-and-claw to the way I think things should be. Thanks for this, Marilee. And for reading.

      1. Thanks for letting me share, and thanks for sharing your writings as well.

I was thinking… If you would like to see actual manifesting in action, I saw it happen live, and it was recorded in a video. The person involved had no idea – they weren’t trying; there weren’t any mantras or affirmations going on, but dang if they didn’t manifest. I think I shared this with Suzanne back when it happened in 2021. Here’s a PDF describing it with links to the video and timestamps for the details. It shows how it’s our Certainty that is the driver behind manifesting, and how Fear alerts us when our imagination is creating something we don’t actually want. It’s also a fun watch! 🙂

    2. Marilee!!! Thank you so much for sharing your guiding life principles here. I can’t believe I missed this message earlier. I am delighted to read ut now. You and I are having much the same experience. Everything you expressed so beautifully in sharing your thoughts, it’s all what are we here for, really, and it’s delicious, isn’t it? Very grateful this morning to find this message and for you taking the time to share your insights. Thank you dear one. 💚

      1. My friend, you totally DID reply to this one earlier. (I think the tool goofed and led you here, when actually, I posted today on the “Crown of Flowers” post.)

  2. Hey Lynette – know what I like best about you? The honest snark that you allow to surface. I, too, have the snark. Oh sure, I try to be all positive and peaceful and loving, but there is joy in the snark. The snark admits to the angst/frustration/idiocy that is equally part of the human experience. The snark embraces the F*bomb, and agrees that it’s one of the most inclusive words in the English language. Sometimes the snark is dark, but it is always compelling. I believe, in fact, that I am – in my perfection – a solid 70% snark. Maybe that’s my charm? Let me ponder…
